Back then, the demoscene forums were buzzing with heated debates about art and the demoscene itself. Should the demoscene be considered some kind of weird form of art?

The question is: "What is art?"
We believe that anything that makes you feel something can be art, even the most absurd idea, as long as there's some meaning behind it.
For ifParty, the organizers chose "Art" as the theme, so we decided to create a small demo exploring the concept.
Madgoblin designed a 3D bathroom and a toothbrush, while merlucin created the intro and composed the music. Xphere and kolian worked on the code and added new features to the demo engine.
We put everything together at the party place and showed it on the big screen that night.
We experimented with FOV settings and image matrix effects, but the main technical challenge was a texture issue that caused black borders on some 3D cards. We never figured out the exact cause, and we asked for some help to ther fellow sceners. Ithaqua from Stravaganza tried to help too. Many thanks from here!!!
We eventually fixed it in a later demo, where we also introduced our particle system. But that's another story!
